Host a ‘Backyard Barndance’ between now and September 27th.

Channel the Spirit of Barndance while following CDC guidelines for social distancing and gatherings. From NOW through September 27th, you can either host a Backyard Barndance or get invited to a Backyard Barndance.

Barndance is made up of the 2500 amazing people who attend, volunteer and sponsor. We are so fortunate to have the best supporters around. We know we are stronger together, and while we can’t all be together under the big tent, smaller ‘Backyard Barndance‘ events can pop up and keep the 7 Best Hours of Summer going!

If you are excited to host a ‘Backyard Barndance‘, the first step is to register as a host as soon as possible. Fill out the online form below. We ask that all Backyard Barndances are completed by September 27th.

What you will need:

  1. A Host (CLICK HERE to become a Backyard Barndance Host and register your event date.)
  2. Décor + Theme (get creative with food, beverages and more). Or keep it simple…pizza and beer.
  3. Create your own invitations, get sponsors, hold raffles, play games, have an auction…your event, your call!
  4. Attendees to Backyard events can either donate online prior to the event or submit checks made out to GCCF and mail to PO Box or give to host to turn in. See check details below. See online donation form below.

  1. The host that raises the most funds at a ‘Backyard Barndance’ will win a Gold Reserved table for 8 at Barndance 2021.
Runner up will win 8 tickets to Barndance 2021.
  2. Submit a video or photo slide show to win most CREATIVE ‘Backyard Barndance’ to win a Gold Reserved table for 8 at Barndance 2021.
Runner up will win 8 tickets to Barndance 2021.
(Deadline + guidelines for submission will be posted soon).

Other ways to support:

  1. Purchase online Gavers Community Cancer Foundation 50/50 raffle tickets! Win cash! The drawing will be at 5:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 27 at the Public House of Woodstock.  Stubs purchased on-line will be mailed. (This can be done regardless of attending or hosting a Backyard Barndance.)
  2. If you just want to give for the sake of giving, CLICK HERE to donate now.

What’s important is to celebrate those who have beaten cancer, remember those who have lost the fight, and support those still battling.

Maybe it’s the group of friends you always attend Barndance with or maybe it’s a family-only event.  We just ask that you set a contribution amount. We suggest $50 a person or even 4 for the price of 3 — reminiscent of our annual ticket deal. Just like Barndance you can offer sponsorships, underwriting, raffles and auctions. Or keep it simple and just collect money. Or maybe it 4 people golfing together. Think outside the box.

If hosts, guests or sponsors prefer to donate via check, mail to:
Gavers Community Cancer Foundation
PO BOX 1724
Woodstock, IL 60098
Please list on the memo line of check Backyard Barndance and host name so we can track funds raised per host.

We just ask that you select a host, have the host register the date and then donate. While we can’t gather under the BIG TENT, we can still FIGHT and raise much needed funds to support cancer education, research and treatment. We still want to grant out funds to our partners Rush University Medical Center, Family Health Partnership, Northwestern Medicine, and Ann & Robert H. Luries Children’s Hospital of Chicago and these Backyard Barndances will afford us to do so in 2020.

We will also post details for how to submit images/videos to win the most CREATIVE ‘Backyard Barndance’ soon.

We will post updates on our social media pages, on this website and send emails. Follow us on Facebook and Instagram to stay up-to-date!
